This week my blog will be discussing the blogs of my classmates. The two blogs I chose to write about are from my classmates Mara Yamnicky and Ashley Benisatto. These two blogs out of the couple of other classmates blogs I read were the best in my opinion because they were interesting enough to make me wanna read their whole blog and both blogs taught me things I didn't know before.
In Mara's Blog discusses public relations campaigns in the United States. In her first blog she talks about a ad campaign done in France for McDonald where they had a father and son going to McDonald and it is suggesting that the son is gay but his father doesn't know. The commercial ends with the words "Come as You Are” to show that McDonald is accepting of his sexual orientation. She goes on to discuss the pros and cons of this ad campaign. In her second campaign she talks about ethics in American PR and gives examples of ethical and unethical campaigns. In her third blog she discusses PR research in campaigns and comparing U.S. and U.K. studies on the subject.
In Ashley's Blog she discusses crisis management in the world of PR. In her first blog she talks about how came up with idea to do her blog on crisis management. In her second blog she discusses the ethics of PR relating to crisis management and she gave examples of ethic and unethical ways people handle crises. Her third post was about religion in politics and how a bad reputation isn't as bad for someone running for political office as it was in the past.

PR Research
There are many different methods to conduct research. There are empirical research, experimental research, qualitative research, and historical research. When you are conducting t study you have to make sure that it is reliable that you get the same results each time you conduct the study. You also have to check the validity of the study to make sure that the research actually studies what you want to study. In most good research you use reasoning there are two kinds of reasoning deductive reasoning and inductive reasoning. In deductive reasoning you use logic and come to a conclusion based on knowing that something is true . Inductive reasoning is when you make general conclusions based on your own experiences.
After you use one of these methods to conduct a study you have to analyze and interpret the results that you gained from the study. When analyzing the information the researcher has a responsibility to make sure you use all the data gathered and that they are not made up or altered. After you gather all your information from your study you should make a research report to explain in detail the data that you collected and what information you have gained from doing the study. There are two types of research reports there is an academic research report that has strict guidelines and expectations and then there is the business research report that is used in PR and advertising that stresses the findings of the study.

How the Hoffman Agency uses social media
Social media the newest and most important way of doing public relations these days. The two biggest way to promote your company is through the social networking sites of Facebook and twitter. The Hoffman agency has pages on both these sites. On their facebook page they keep customers updated on what is going on in the agency. They do this through wall posts containing pictures, links to their website and websites that mention them, and video that show what it is like to work at the Hoffman agency.
On their twitter page they keep followers updated with what is going on in the agency with daily posts some that are links to their facebook page and their offical site. By using social media the agency is able to get instant feedback either positive or negative from their customers and they are able to reach more potential customers and employees easier and faster.

The company I chose to write my blog about is The Hoffman Agency. The agency was founded in 1987 and has nine offices in Europe, Asia Pacific and the United States. Their main focus is managing global public relations programs for technology companies and new technology areas. In my blog I will be talking about how they deal with public relations in each of their offices in China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
